Mars gets World Cup Offer
 

For the first time ever, whilst Beckham’s boys were playing in the World Cup, the Mars logo was replaced with BELIEVE.   As the nation’s favourite chocolate bar, Mars was in an ideal position to fuel the nation’s positive spirit in the build up to the World Cup with the name change.  The campaign gave Mars huge visibility and high scale presence during a key feel good time

The BELIEVE range included single Mars bars and Mars six pack multi-packs and was available in the run up to and during the World Cup.

 

Text to win competition
 

Mobilize Systems produced the BELIEVE Text to Win competition and created all supporting materials which appeared across 175 Sainsbury’s at Jacksons and Bells stores.  The campaign was part of the £3.7 million integrated Believe campaign which ran across a variety of media including TV, press, radio, outdoor, direct mail, in-store point-of-sale/TV and PR.

The BELIEVE Text to Win competition encouraged consumers to text BELIEVE with every purchase of a Mars product.  The campaign was designed to harness the optimism of the nation in-store with over 200 football themed prizes offered – including branded t-shirts, footballs plus a Samsung Widescreen LCD TV for one lucky winner.
Mobilize Systems integrated a SHOP SCAN SAVE® campaign to cover the 35 stores within the estate.  SHOP SCAN SAVE® targeted members with SMS messages that showed a propensity to purchase confectionery or enter competitions as well as supporting the in-store promotion with text reminders.

 

Winning results
 
  • 63% of entries nationwide were SHOP SCAN SAVE® members.

  • Mars sales uplift in SHOP SCAN SAVE® stores increased by 97%.

  • Mars sales uplift in non SHOP SCAN SAVE® stores increased by 78%.
